Unofficially

Since the present managing committee of the alumni association thinks the following :

————————–

a) we could not use it properly, it came alive only occasionally, rather a place solely to put up formal notifications of the Associations and often had some pictures uploaded when someone had some spare time.

b) we failed to upgrade the website to make it more meaningful and attractive to draw fellow BNNVians attention.

c) it was admittedly not very interactive and people were occasionally confused trying to navigate it. Re-organisation of the website was in our plans for the last three-four years but we could not do it for some admittedly silly reasons like inability to sit with the original administrator and other related members to thrash out details and some inexplicable objection from some of our members who thought it a waste of effort and money.

————————–

There is a new website which is official and hosted somewhere in EU. Find it from people who are managing it. Search engines will take time to discover and show it.

This site is un-official.The site admin decides to keep it live to stand the test of time. Being unofficial has advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantage is since 8 Dec 2018 the site is entirely self funded – less accounting pain. Secondly Few members / alumni may like to contribute their opinions here. I reserve the rights to take a call on those matters. Any post which appears here after Nov 2019 are not approved / disapproved by the managing committee of the association. Please drop email to me : webmaster@bnnvalumni.org if you have something to say about it.

Executive committee meeting (25 Nov ’17 updates

Dear friends,

At long last we had a meeting of the E.C of the BNNVAA (better late than never) on the 25th of Nov. I was presiding and quorum was achieved with physical presence of 7 members while Suparna and Arindam were apprised of all the discussions extensively over phone. The following very important decisions were taken:

1. At long last, we succeeded in declaring a fixed date for our AGM-REUNION. From this year onwards, it will be held on 2nd SUNDAY of FEBRUARY. This year the date will be 11th of February 2018.

2. Another important decision was about the Registration Charges. Agreeing to a persistent demand from certain quarters, we have decided to reduce the registration charge to Rs 200/- only for this year’s AGM-REUNION. If that doesn’t increase the no. of participants by at least 30 percent(as is claimed), there is no point of carrying that dead albatross around our shoulders in future years.

3. This year we have a list of ~332 members of BNNVAA of which only 127 have paid their membership fees last year. We have formed a group of 5 of our EC members who will get in touch with all the 332 and urge them for participation. That task will be completed by the 15th of December.

4. To follow up that initial contact, we have unanimously decided to utilise the services of Mr. Nabendu Dey and Mr. Surojit Banerjee from 16th of December to till our AGM-REUNION against a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 5000.

5. Approximate expenditure of our AGM-REUNION without any Entertainment Programme was calculated to be ~ Rs.65000/-(+/- 10%). The final decision regarding the EP, it’s cost and how that can be arranged will be decided at a later date.

6. Our next meeting will be on 16th of December. Secretary will call the meeting and let you know of the time, venue and the Agenda.

Thank you guys and take care. Till we meet.
